Nioh 3 Demo

Want to try it before you buy it? A Nioh 3 demo is coming to PS5 and PC on January 29. Progress you make in the demo will carry over into the full game, and you’ll even get a reward for completing the demo: the twin-snake helmet.

What Is Nioh 3?

Nioh 3 is the latest game in the Nioh series and follows a young warrior who’s set to become the next Shogun. The PlayStation Blog announcement also revealed that, “as the battles unfold, players will now be able to fight using two distinct combat styles: Samurai and Ninja.”

The Samurai playstyle is similar to the previous Nioh games, though “New actions such as Arts Proficiency, which enhances the power of martial arts, and Deflect, which allows players to block enemy attacks at the last moment have been added.” The Ninja playstyle, on the other hand, “excels in quick movements like dodging and aerial actions,” and features “Ninjitsu” techniques for players to utilize.

Our preview of Nioh 3 from IGN’s Mitchell Saltzman said, “Nioh 3 is shaping up to be exactly the same kind of iterative step above its predecessor that Nioh 2 ended up being. The style switching between Samurai and Ninja is an excellent addition that adds new layers of depth to an already stacked combat system, and the new open fields offer up even more incentive to explore than ever before, with fun challenges, mini bosses, and secret treasures to discover in every corner.”
