Chinese esports organisation Invictus Gaming has announced that it is holding open tryouts for its Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) team.
Invictus Gaming’s requirements for applicants include being at least 16 years old and possessing at least 400 stars in Ranked. The tryouts are open to all roles within a typical MLBB team.
Interested players can apply by scanning the QR code provided in the social media post, which will take players to a Google form to fill out. Required details include contact details, social media, in-game name, desired role and more.
In the form, Invictus Gaming wrote: “This tryout is open to passionate MLBB players who are committed, coachable, and ready to improve in the competitive team environment.
“Whether you’re aiming to sharpen your skills or take the next step in esports, this is your opportunity to be seen.”
It is worth noting that the team did not explicitly state that it is exclusively looking for Chinese players to join its MLBB team.
Invictus Gaming has had a rough 2025 season, ultimately failing to qualify for the M7 World Championship in Jakarta, Indonesia. Since its debut last year, its highest achievement was placing third in the China Professional Invitational 2025 Stage 1, losing 2-3 to YBINGAME in the Lower Bracket Finals.
MLBB’s Expansion Into China
The tryouts launch a year after Invictus Gaming first joined the MLBB esports ecosystem, shortly after game publisher MOONTON released the MOBA game in China during the World Championship Challenge.
Since the launch of its Chinese league, the MLBB Pro League welcomed strategic partners such as smartphone brand Realme, Chinese telecommunication brand China Unicom, China Minsheng Bank and more
China has competed in MLBB prior to the establishment of the regional league. In 2023, the M5 World Championship featured a Chinese team for the first time in the tournament’s history, with KeepBest Gaming winning the China Qualifier for the event.
