Former TALON head coach, Hector ‘FrosT’ Rosario, has expressed his disappointment with Riot Games’ process when selecting a replacement for the VCT Pacific team in an exclusive interview with Esports Insider.

FULL SENSE replaced TALON in VCT Pacific for the 2026 season after the latter was removed from the International League due to financial issues.

“If you don’t think TALON is good enough, that’s fine. But there’s no way you thought FULL SENSE was, when you passed on them in franchising in the first place. Riot’s own evaluation said FULL SENSE wasn’t good enough,” he shared.

Editor’s note: For confidentiality purposes, some team names have been redacted from this interview.

Now part of Global Esports, the American coach revealed that he had organisations “bigger than Sentinels” ready to take over TALON’s spot.

However, Riot Games rejected the proposals and instead opted to bring in FULL SENSE, despite previously turning down its partnership application.

“And the organisations I brought were arguably bigger than most organisations in VALORANT. I don’t want to take names, but some of the organisations I had were bigger than even a team like Sentinels,” FrosT revealed.

“[redacted] was the biggest one we were thinking about. They’re bigger than Sentinels. That doesn’t necessarily mean they’re bigger in VALORANT, but in the grand scheme of esports, they are bigger.”

No Clear Explanation

According to FrosT, Riot Games did not provide clear reasoning on not moving forward with his proposals and instead “kept moving the goalposts.”

“They kept saying, ‘Oh, we want APAC teams only,’ which to me is really weird given the fact that it’s a one-year lease,” he explained. “It’s not like you’re dealing with this team for three more years.”

In line with Riot’s instructions, the head coach brought an APAC team on board, but the application was once again rejected.

“Okay, fine, you want an APAC team? I even got [redacted] ready to take the TALON players, and the organisation said, ‘Fine, for a one-year lease, it’s okay,’” FrosT added.

“So there’s no way you can look at me in good faith and say, ‘Oh, the organisation you brought wasn’t at TALON’s calibre.’ […] But whatever the reason, it doesn’t make sense to me because it’s not like FULL SENSE is better for VALORANT, or even, I would argue, Thai VALORANT.”

In the end, FrosT officially joined Global Esports as its head coach in December 2025. The organisation is currently in the Middle Bracket, losing to Paper Rex after winning its opening series against VARREL at VCT Pacific Kickoff.

Global Esports will return to the stage on January 29th to begin its Middle Bracket run against ZETA DIVISION.

FULL SENSE, on the other hand, acquired the majority of TALON’s roster and has won both of its matches against ZETA DIVISION and DRX. The team will compete against Nongshim RedForce on January 31st for a spot in the Upper Final.
