Turkish sports organisation Galatasaray has signed a new sponsorship agreement with PUBG Mobile, expanding its commercial footprint within mobile esports.

The partnership was confirmed ahead of a signing ceremony scheduled to take place on January 14th at Ali Sami Yen Sports Complex Rams Park, the club’s home venue in Istanbul.

According to the announcement, the ceremony will be attended by Niyazi Yelkencioğlu, Vice President of Galatasaray Sports Club, and Can Gürsu, PUBG Mobile Country Manager for Turkey. The event will include speeches from both representatives, followed by the formal signing and a media Q&A session.

PUBG Mobile, developed by Tencent-owned Lightspeed Studios, launched globally in 2018 and has since become one of the most-played mobile titles in the world, with a significant competitive ecosystem across multiple regions. The game has maintained a strong presence in Turkey, both in terms of playerbase and esports viewership.

Galatasaray in Esports

While best known internationally for its football success, Galatasaray has steadily invested in esports over the past few years. The organisation has fielded teams across a wide range of titles, including League of Legends, VALORANT, Counter-Strike, Free Fire and PUBG Mobile, reflecting a strategy that spans both PC and mobile esports.

The PUBG Mobile sponsorship aligns with Galatasaray’s broader multi-division structure, which already covers traditional sports such as basketball and volleyball alongside newer competitive disciplines like esports and chess. Mobile titles, in particular, have played an increasingly important role in the club’s digital strategy due to their accessibility and popularity among younger audiences.

Neither party disclosed financial details or the full scope of the agreement at the time of writing. However, sponsorships between traditional sports clubs and mobile game publishers have become more common, especially in markets where mobile esports command large viewership numbers.
