Aurora Gaming PH dismantled Alter Ego 4-0 in a one-sided final to take the M7 World Championship trophy and once again reclaim the top throne for the Philippines.
Indonesia’s Alter Ego, which had taken down the likes of Team Liquid PH and Selangor Red Giants on its way to the grand finals, lost in front of a packed home crowd at the Tennis Indoor Stadium Senayan in Jakarta.
Aurora PH Deny Alter Ego In Straight Games
Coming into the grand final, both teams were high in confidence. Aurora PH had an upper bracket run into the grand finals. However, its most recent game against Selangor Red Giants (SRG) was not without difficulties.
On the other side of the bracket, Alter Ego took down SRG 3-1 to set up a Philippines vs Indonesia grand final.
This was the second encounter between the two teams in the Knockout Stage. In the first one, Aurora PH won 3-1, and Alter Ego was hoping for a different outcome this time.
However, this turned out not to be the case. The first game started with both teams trading kills, with a fairly balanced start. However, Aurora PH managed to build towards the late game, with a 5,000 gold lead towards the 11-minute mark. Alter Ego could not recover from here and lost the game.
From here, Aurora PH gained control throughout the best-of-seven series, dominating map control, objectives, and picking up kills to take the win.
This was the first M World Championship win for Aurora PH and a sixth-straight world championship trophy for the Philippines. The team will pocket $320,000 (~£234,000) of the $1m (~£731,000) prize pool, while second-placed Alter Ego will receive $150,000 (~£109,000).
M7 World Championship Breaks Viewership Records
The grand finals between Aurora PH and Alter Ego amassed more than 5.6m peak viewers, per Esports Charts.
This made it the most viewed mobile esports tournament in history, surpassing Free Fire World Series (FFWS) Singapore 2021, which peaked at 5.4m viewers.
Furthermore, MOONTON announced the 2026 esports roadmap for MLBB esports during the grand finals, which included the Esports Nations Cup (ENC), M8, and a new regional structure.
