Activision has claimed that its anti-cheat measures for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 have caught and banned 97% of cheaters within 30 minutes of signing in.

According to the publisher, upgrades to its systems have resulted in fewer cheaters finding their way into matches during the Black Ops 7 beta.

In an X post, the Call of Duty updates account shared a lengthy post on the initiatives that are combating cheaters within Black Ops 7’s beta, which began on October 2nd, 2025.

The publisher revealed that ‘fewer than 1% of cheating attempts reached a match,’ and any attempts that bypassed the systems were caught ‘within minutes.’

“This is just the beginning. When launch arrives, every layer of protection will be in full force, and Ricochet Anti-Cheat’s defences will only grow stronger,” said Activision.

Activision also revealed that cheat providers are also ‘feeling the heat’ regarding the more robust measures. It said several providers are branding their tools as unusable or detected, leaving hackers unable to gain any kind of unfair advantage during matches.

Additionally, the publisher has worked on closing down cheat manufacturers and sellers over the past 12 months, with ‘over 40 cheat developers and resellers’ shutting their doors.

Community Reaction

While Activision continues to implement various measures to prevent hackers from appearing in multiplayer matches, fans participating in the beta are continuing to encounter cheaters.

“Your anti-cheat isn’t enough. Detection alone doesn’t solve the problem if cheaters face minimal consequences or return within hours,” commented one fan.

Other members of the community claim that cheat developers have already found methods to bypass the measures. “I’ve seen cheat developers claim it took them only 5 minutes to adapt Black Ops 6 cheats for Black Ops 7,” added another concerned player.

With the Call of Duty League returning in 2026, it will be interesting to see how Activision’s improved measures continue to combat cheaters from impacting the in-game action.
