AI Esports Chatbots Are on the Rise
NRG’s new chatbot was brought to life by Theta Labs, a provider of decentralised cloud infrastructure for AI, media and entertainment. Volt uses Theta EdgeCloud’s distributed GPU infrastructure, powered by native L1 blockchain.
“NRG is committed to innovative fan experiences, and Volt powered by Theta EdgeCloud represents the next evolution in how we engage with our community,” shared Hauk Nelson, Director of Business Development at NRG. “Thanks to Theta, we can provide our fans with instant access to stats, merchandise, and team updates across all of our competitive titles…”
However, NRG is not the first esports organisation to leverage Theta’s EdgeCloud technology to increase fan engagement. Last year, fellow North American esports organisation FlyQuest teamed up with Theta to launch its own AI chatbot, a.PhiD.
More recently, Evil Geniuses launched a chatbot of its mascot, Meesh, in collaboration with Theta Labs.
