Not every decision has to end with bloodshed and death in Avowed. You might be able to come to a reasonable conclusion if you can find some common ground during a quest. This can happen during Precious Light quest when you’re speaking with Captain Bardatto.
Bardatto is working for the Vailian Trading Company, and wants to return the shipment of luminous Adra to her employers. It was stolen by a group of smugglers led by Captain Trevik. When you speak with him to acquire the Luminous Adra, he informs you of his situation and asks you to deal with Captain Bardatto, giving you the Luminous Adra.
