Souls-like Lies of P is getting a prequel called Overture.

Announced during Sony’s State of Play 2025 broadcast, the Lies of P: Overture DLC expansion launches summer 2025 across PC, PlayStation, and Xbox. The gameplay trailer is below.

Lies of P is a well-received single-player action RPG that reimagines the classic fairy tale of Pinocchio in Bloodborne-style gameplay. IGN’s Lies of P review returned an 8/10. We said: “Lies of P might not branch out particularly far from its soulslike inspiration, but it plays the part extremely well.”

Lies of P: Overture takes players “back to the beginning of the Puppet Frenzy” and reveals the events leading up to the main game. The gameplay trailer features new environments, new bosses, and briefly teases a mysterious guide.

Lies of P: Overture is the dramatic prequel to the acclaimed soulslike action RPG, Lies of P. It transports you to the city of Krat in its final days of haunting late-19th-century Belle Époque beauty. On the brink of the Puppet Frenzy massacre, you follow a Legendary Stalker — a mysterious guide — through untold stories and chilling secrets. As Geppetto’s deadly puppet, you’ll journey through Krat and its surroundings, uncover hidden backstories, and face epic battles that shape the past and future of Lies of P.

Lies of P publisher Neowiz had already teased the game’s first DLC and confirmed plans to release a sequel. Lies of P sold one million copies in less than a month after it launched on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S, PC via Steam, and Mac via the Mac App Store on September 18, 2023.
