Days Gone Remastered is coming to PlayStation 5 with new features like permadeath mode, speedrun mode, and more.
Sony announced the new version of Bend Studio’s post-apocalyptic adventure game as part of its February 2025 State of Play. This beefed-up re-release comes with VRR and PS5 Pro support, but the real draw can be found in its many new features. Included in the lineup are the aforementioned permadeath and speedrun modes as well as an enhanced photo mode and additional accessibility features. There’s also Horde Assault, a special arcade mode that sees Deacon St. John mowing down bigger hordes of Freakers than players are used to.
You’ll be able to pick up Days Gone Remastered April 25, 2025. Those who purchase the PS4 version of Days Gone can upgrade to the PS5 remastered version for $10. You can see the full first trailer for Days Gone Remastered below.
Days Gone Remastered is Sony’s latest push to bring PS4 hits to PS5 users with additional goodies. When it launches this spring, it will join other game upgrades like The Last of Us Part I and Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered.
Like some of these other titles, Days Gone has already made its way to PC, but those who own the Bend game on that platform don’t have to miss out. Sony says Days Gone players on PC will be able to pick up new modes in the form of the $10 Broken Roads DLC. The content must be purchased to also take advantage of those new accessibility features, DualSense support, and enhanced photo mode.
We learned even more about Days Gone Remastered in a recently published PlayStation.Blog post. Bend says its upgraded take on Deacon’s story was built for PS5 and boasts improved visuals that can be enjoyed in either Performance or Quality mode. Oregon’s sights and sounds are said to be even better for those who play on PS5 Pro, with this version of the game also utilizing DualSense controller features like haptic feedback and adaptive triggers.
New players can pick up Days Gone Remastered on PS5 for $49.99. Pre-orders start tomorrow, with pre-purchasers granted access to eight PSN avatars and five early in-game unlocks. You can learn more about everything announced during today’s State of Play in our roundup here.
