EA Sports FC 25’s First ‘Live Tuning’ Update Patches Out Exploit That Was Ruining Competitive Play

EA Sports has issued FC 25‘s first live tuning update, which patches out an exploit that was ruining competitive play.

Live tuning lets EA Sports roll out some changes without requiring a full title update. The developer said it can make tuning changes “faster and with more frequency while working on the balance of the game.”

Live Tuning Update #1 reduces ball trajectory height for lobbed passes and crosses in Rush matches (Ultimate Team’s eye-catching new mode for FC 25), and reduces the accuracy of first-time lobbed through passes and lobbed through passes taken at severe angles across all gameplay.

But it’s the end of the game-breaking speed boost exploit that will be of most interest to core FC 25 fans. This speed boost glitch saw players accelerate unintentionally quickly using a simple combination of input commands, which in turn caused chaos especially in Ultimate Team’s ranked PvP mode, Division Rivals, and the ultra hardcore FUT Champs mode.

All that was required was a press and hold of L1 on PlayStation or LB on Xbox then a tap of the Sprint button, which would see your players explode beyond bemused defenders and into space. Hopefully with this live tuning update the exploit will be gone for good.

The live tuning update follows the release of FC 25 Title Update 2, which made a relatively small number of changes to the game just a week after launch. But EA Sports clearly has plenty more work to do getting FC 25 up to scratch, with unresponsive menus and gameplay as well as overpowered defending and dodgy passing among the many community complaints.

Wondering what’s changed in FC 25? Here’s a list of everything new – we’ve also got the Best EA FC 25 Tactics Codes to help you prepare your game plan, plus a breakdown of every Skill Move in FC 25 and how to perform them.
