PC players can now fully utilize the souped up DualSense Edge controller thanks to the PlayStation Accessories app.

Sony has released the PlayStation Accessories app as a revamped version of what was previously, less succinctly, called the Firmware Updates For DualSense Wireless Controller. It grants “significant improvements to the overall design and user experience” and allows full use of the DualSense Edge’s features.

This includes the ability to create, edit, and switch between custom profiles on PC, the same as players with a DualSense Edge can already do on PlayStation 5. This allows different configurations and settings to be applied to, for example, a first-person shooter at the touch of a button, compared to a racing game or a platformer.

Starting today PC gamers can unleash the full customizable power of the DualSense Edge controller directly on their computer.

A short explainer released on X/Twitter, above, shows someone customizing myriad options including control stick sensitivity, control stick deadzone, trigger deadzone, custom button assignments, vibration intensity, trigger effects, and more.

The DualSense Edge also works with mobile devices, meaning those who spend $200 on it can now get even more bang for their buck.

In our 9/10 review of the controller, IGN said: “The DualSense Edge controller puts its customization front and center with its slick software and intuitive Function buttons, finally giving PlayStation owners an answer to the venerated Xbox Elite.”

The PlayStation Accessories app arrives amid Sony’s live-service push across PC and PS5, which has seen mixed results. Arrowhead’s Helldivers 2 launched earlier this year on both platforms at the same time to explosive success, selling an incredible 12 million copies in 12 weeks to become the fastest-selling PlayStation Studios game of all time.

However, Firewalk Studios’ 5v5 hero shooter Concord, which similarly launched last week on PC and PS5 at the same time, appears to have struggled significantly on Steam at least, with a shockingly low number of concurrent players.

Sony is also releasing many more of its single-player games on PC after they first launch on console. Sony Santa Monica’s God of War Ragnarök launches on PC on September 19, just shy of two years after it launched on PlayStation.
