NBA 2K25 Reveals Its Top 10 Best Players

NBA 2K has revealed the top 10 players and ratings featured in NBA 2K25, a list which includes the Denver Nuggets’ Nikola Jokić, the Los Angeles Lakers’ LeBron James, and the Golden State Warriors’ Stephen Curry.

The full list of players arrived via the NBA itself, which confirmed reigning Most Valuable Player Jokić has retained his position at the top, but slipped from a 98 overall to a 97 overall (perhaps after the Nuggets lost in the Western Conference Semi Finals after winning the NBA Championship last year).

This puts him in a shared first place with two other Europeans at 97 overall: Luka Dončić of the 2024 Western Conference Champions Dallas Mavericks, and Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks. Both are up from last year, Dončić from 95 overall and Antetokounmpo from 96.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander of the Oklahoma City Thunder and Joel Embiid of the Philadelphia 76ers are both 96 overall, while veterans LeBron James and Stephen Curry (aged 39 and 36 respectively) are both 95 overall. Jayson Tatum of the NBA Champion Boston Celtics and the front cover of NBA 2K25 is a 95 overall too.

Rounding out the top 10, both at 94 overall, is Kevin Durant of the Phoenix Suns and Anthony Davis also of the Los Angeles Lakers (making it the only team to have two players in the NBA 2K25 top 10 players list).

Just missing out on the privilege is the Minnesota Timberwolves’ Anthony Edwards, the Phoenix Suns’ Devin Booker, and the New York Knicks’ Jalen Brunson, all at 93 overall. Further down the list, 2024 Rookie of the Year Victor Wembanyama received a 91 overall rating, up from 84 in NBA 2K24.

NBA 2K25 is available September 6 on PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Alongside Tatum on the front cover of the Standard Edition comes WNBA champion A’ja Wilson on the cover of the WNBA Edition and the All-Star Edition, and Vince Carter on the cover of the Hall of Fame Edition.

In our 6/10 review of the last game, IGN said: “NBA 2K24 scores big with gameplay, but its microtransaction tactics feel like a costly turnover.”
