How many people are playing Apex Legends?
It’s hard to believe, but Apex Legends is now five years old. That’s half a decade’s worth of content, as well as the inevitable rises and falls in player count. In season 22, the devs are hoping to bring people back to the game.
After a tumultuous season 21 that started promising with sizable updates to Broken Moon, the player count plunged in the back half of the season to numbers it hadn’t seen since 2021, according to Steam Charts. There were several reasons for this, from cheaters coming back with a vengeance to match-making concerns and review-bombing from players after controversial battle pass changes were announced, then subsequently walked back in part.
