Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League developer Rocksteady has fully revealed Season 2 supervillain Mrs. Freeze.

In a blog post, Rocksteady promised a “fast paced, dynamic, and totally unique traversal kit” for Mrs. Freeze thanks to her ability to create a path of ice to ride anywhere. Think Frozone from The Incredibles.

Mrs. Freeze also comes equipped with an arsenal of weapons to deal damage, including heavy weapons for close range and assault rifles and pistols for taking down enemies from a distance. Her “tanky style of gameplay” is exemplified by her Frozen Axe, which “can deliver powerful, meaty swings” and focuses on Shield Harvesting.

Like the rest of the Suicide Squad, Mrs. Freeze comes with three playstyles: Cooler, Physicist, and Technician. Cooler enables cryotech to turn Mrs. Freeze into “an unstoppable tank with incredible crowd-controlling,” with players able to use the Snowball Effect to instantly freezes enemies or Exothermic Transfer to regenerate shields. The Physicist playstyle focuses on close combat as it buffs melee, Shield Harvest, and Suicide Strikes, while the Technician boosts run and gun abilities.

Players can unlock Mrs. Freeze by completing a series of Incursions, and once they’ve been completed and players have reached Episode Rank 25, a new boss fight will open where she can be recruited.

“Victoria Frias is an ice-cold, self-sufficient survivalist who has watched her Elseworld turn to ice as Brainiac’s invasion took hold,” reads her description. “By the time we meet her in Season 2, she has spent years as the last holdout of her dying planet, unwilling to leave her cryogenically frozen wife behind. But after being recruited by the Squad, she may have the chance to save her — and unleash icy hell.”

Players will be able to explore this frozen Elseworld in Season 2 and discover new weapons designed to melt its icy enemies. It all arrives July 25, 2024.

The up-to-four player action game has struggled since its arrival in January 2024 and “generated significantly lower revenues” for publisher Warner Bros. Discovery compared to the year before. Last month, Warner Bros. told IGN that Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League will see out its first year of support, but declined to comment on what happens afterwards.

In our 5/10 review, IGN said: “Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is a repetitive and bland looter-shooter that, despite an engaging story, never stays fun for long enough.”
