The developer of Monopoly Go has announced a board game based on the smash hit mobile game, itself based on the world-renowned original board game.

Monopoly Go had the most successful mobile game launch ever in the U.S., having made an eye-watering $2 billion in just 10 months after coming out last year.

Developer Scopely, which is also behind hit Fall Guys-style party game Stumble Guys, announced the special edition tabletop version of Monopoly Go, bringing the game full circle. It’s a board game based on a mobile game based on a board game.

Monopoly Go the board game costs $19.99 and launched on August 1, 2024. It’s a fast-paced affair inspired by the mobile game; in each round players roll dice and everyone moves their token around their own mini board at the same time. Each quick-playing game is about 15 minutes.

There’s no money. Instead, whenever players land on a color space, they place that matching-colored landmark block on their board. Be the first to stack four matching-colored blocks to win.

You can choose from four double-sided mini gameboards with real and imagined locations, such as New York City, the Roaring 20s, and Unicorn Land.
