Capcom will pull back the curtain on its just-announced Dead Rising remaster at a showcase event set for next week.
Capcom Next is a 25 minute event featuring three games: Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster, Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess, and Resident Evil 7 for iPhone, iPad, and Mac. The action kicks off 3pm Pacific / 6pm Eastern / 11pm UK on July 1, 2024.
Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster is a remaster of the original Xbox 360 game for modern platforms. There’s no release date yet beyond a 2024 window or confirmation of those platforms, but we do have the trailer, below, which shows zombie-slaying photojournalist Frank West on the helicopter to Willamette Mall.
Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess, meanwhile, is a brand-new intellectual property from Capcom due out July 19. It’s an action game that revolves around Soh, who protects a divine maiden named Yoshiro who must “purge and cleanse” villages of “defilement” and return the legendary Mt. Kafuku to peace.
And Resident Evil 7 hits Apple devices on July 2. This port has enhanced controls, including a new Auto Fire feature that lets players auto fire a gun after aiming at enemies “for a set period of time.”
Capcom managed expectations by saying the showcase will not feature the hotly anticipated Monster Hunter Wilds, which is due out at some point next year on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and S, so don’t expect this showcase to be an E3-style conference packed with new game reveals.
The Japanese game company has a number of other games in the works, including Resident Evil 2 Remake heading to Apple devices, remakes of Resident Evil 0 and Code Veronica, another mainline Resident Evil game, and the MIA Pragmata.
