Esports tournament organiser ESL FACEIT Group (EFG) and chip manufacturer Qualcomm have expanded the Snapdragon Pro Series, its multi-title mobile esports ecosystem.

The tournament will increase its prize pool to around $4.4m (£3.5m) and features expanded competitions in Brawl Stars, Clash of Clans, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang and Call of Duty: Mobile.

First announced in early 2022, the expansion of the tournament coincides with the third year of the Pro Series. In a release, ESL FACEIT Group pointed to several high-profile partnerships with game developers as a springboard for expanded and improved competitions.

The company recently signed a partnership with MOONTON Games, the creators of the mobile MOBA game Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, which will see its ecosystem expanded into more regions via the Snapdragon Pro Series. In addition, its partnership with Supercell sees the inclusion of a $2m Brawl Stars tournament to the Pro Series. ESL FACEIT Group has also become the official operator of the Brawl Stars Championship.

ESL FACEIT Group’s existing partnership with Activision will see Call of Duty Mobile return to the tournament series, as will Free Fire, a battle royale mobile game. The total number of titles planned for the upcoming seasons of the Snapdragon Pro Series is seven.

Snapdragon Pro Series’ next major international event will take place later this month with the Snapdragon Mobile Masters 2024. The event features $200,000 (~£157,566) prize pool Call of Duty: Mobile and Free Fire tournaments, the latter of which includes qualification to the Esports World Cup.

Sam Braithwaite, VP of Game Ecosystems, Mobile at the ESL FACEIT Group, commented on the announcement: “The level of investment we’re seeing from publishers and exponential growth of the Snapdragon Pro Series underscores why mobile is the future of esports.

“We’re proud to continue our work with Qualcomm Technologies at the cutting edge of competition and mobile technology to empower players with more opportunities to compete – from matches against their friends to seats on the world stage.”
