Polish esports and gaming marketplace Kinguin has announced that its Esports Performance Center (EPC) in Warsaw, the country’s capital, will shut down in May 2024.

The shutdown is due to the conclusion of its lease agreement with current partners and the relocation of Kinguin’s Warsaw office.

Viktor Wanli – Kinguin – Behind the Esports Performance Center

Kinguin’s Esports Performance Center in Warsaw opened in 2019 as a training and boot camp facility for some of the world’s best teams. The centre has been an instrumental part of Kinguin’s esports strategy and has hosted hundreds of bootcamps during the last five years. Shutting down the Performance centre means that Kinguin now has only one venue, its gaming lounge in Gdansk, Poland.

The decision to close down the EPC came due to the lease on the property ending. Kinguin also shared that the company will relocate its Warsaw offices, but did not share any further details about its plans. In a video shared on Kinguin’s YouTube channel, the company’s directors said that it does have plans for the future and that Kinguin will remain active in the esports industry.

The EPC has been one of the more popular bootcamp venues in Europe, previously hosting teams such as FaZe Clan, Fnatic, MOUZ, Team Secret, Tundra, FURIA, Complexity, TSM, and many others. According to the company, more than 300 bootcamps were held in the facility, with 115 taking place in 2023.

Viktor Romaniuk, founder of Kinguin Esports Performance Center, commented on the news: “Our dedication to the growth and development of esports remains unwavering, and we are actively seeking new opportunities to continue this mission.

“We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the players, partners, and supporters who have contributed to the success of the Kinguin Esports Performance Center in Warsaw. We appreciate your understanding and encourage you to stay connected with us for future updates.”
