Bank holding company Ally Financial has expanded its partnership with BLAST-operated Rocket League Esports to offer more opportunities to women in the scene.

The two brands will collaborate to deliver three women-only tournaments and a co-ed event during the year, featuring a total prize pool of $75,000 (~£59,300). The tournaments will be held in North America and Europe with Ally’s branding also featured across the RLCS 2024 season.

According to a release, Ally’s continued investment in the scene is part of the company’s plan to reach equal spending across men’s and women’s competitive disciplines, including esports. Following Ally’s first esports sponsorship, which started last year in February, the company also created collaborations across game titles such as Fortnite, Animal Crossing and Minecraft.

The brand will be featured across the Star Showdown Chasers tournament series, quarterly competitions that to crown the best women’s team in each region which will be kicking off in April. Ally will also gain a presence throughout RLCS North American American Open Qualifiers, Copenhagen Major, London Major and World Championship broadcasts.

Alexander Lewin, SVP for Commercial Revenues at BLAST, commented: “We have some exciting plans lined up for 2024 as we look to deepen our sponsorship with Ally by further focusing on providing a platform for women to excel in esports and gaming.

“Ally’s commitment to creating opportunities for women in Rocket League Esports is unwavering and we are extremely proud to support this ambition through delivering four fantastic tournaments for both the North American and European regions.”

This announcement comes a few days before the start of the first 2024 Major, which will take place in Copenhagen on March 28th. Yesterday, the Rocket League Championship Series (RLCS) also confirmed it will return to London at the Copperbox Arena from June 20th-23rd for its second Major of the 2024 season.
