With hundreds and hundreds of different effects and abilities in LoL, these are the 10 best ones to have in LoL Arena.
Which are the best abilities in LoL Arena?
Just like there are some champions stronger than others depending on the patch or which meta they fit into, there are single abilities that are much better to have, especially when playing the new 2v2v2v2 game mode, LoL Arena.
The abilities we’re about to cover have insane value since they are the strongest at taking advantage of the game mode’s peculiarities and increasing the chances of victory. While not all champions on the list are equally strong in Arena, the spells are good enough to make them relevant.

Alistar Ultimate – Unbreakable Will
Alistar has been one of the most popular picks in the game mode, and even though he got disabled due to a bug with the ability, he counts on one of the most effective effects in LoL Arena.
Unbreakable Will allows him to greatly reduce all incoming damage from the enemies, as well as cleansing all crowd controls. This makes him perfect to absorb all the damage possible, especially skill shots, without fear of losing too much health during the fight. Luckily, he doesn’t offer much damage in his kit, so it’s a fair trade-off with his ultimate.
Taric ultimate – Cosmic Radiance
If Taric is a top-tier champion in LoL Arena, one of the main reasons is his ultimate ability. After channeling, both he and his ally will get invulnerability for a small duration, but long enough to negate most of the incoming damage and prevent themselves from dying.
When played with a hypercarry, this is probably the most broken ability in the game since it makes the partner invincible, impossible to kill, and giving him the chance to turn the tide of the game.
Kennen ultimate – Slicing Maelstorm
Defensive abilities are not the only powerful effects in LoL Arena. Kennen’s ultimate offers great AoE burst damage and the ability to apply a stun to both targets, making them easy targets to finish him off. That said, it requires a bit of setup from his partner, especially if the enemy is tanky or has Flash available.
Regardless, it can be a game-changing ability against certain team comps and allow you to single-handedly destroy the enemy team.
Swain ultimate – Demonflare
With the presence of the circle of death in LoL Arena, Swain gets increasingly stronger as the fighting area shrinks. This is because he heals up most of the damage taken and releases a big wave of burst damage at the end of the cast.
As long as he’s able to get good sustain at the start of a round, Swain can basically become unkillable later on, out sustaining all champions.
Illaoi – Leap of Faith
In a similar fashion, Illaoi can be considered the AD version of Swain, as both want to play in a similar way with the circle of death. Once the area becomes smaller, Illaoi can cast the ultimate to quickly deal a big chunk of damage with his tentacles and heal up a big percentage of it.
This can be the game-changer at the end when most champions will be stuck in low health. Even if she doesn’t kill the target, Illaoi will have enough healing to survive in the end.

Kayle – Divine Judgment
If Taric’s ultimate has a channeling time before making the enemy invulnerable, Kayle’s ultimate is instant. And of top of that, it deals big AoE at the end of the cast, making it one of the best abilities in LoL Arena.
And considering her nature as a hypercarry, there is basically no one nearly as strong in the late stages of a lobby. As long as you time the ultimate correctly, there is no way you can lose rounds.
Poppy – Keeper’s Verdict
This is one of the funniest and most enjoyable abilities for the game mode since it can be used both defensively and offensively. But most importantly, you can use it to knock the enemies away, creating more distance between your team and the opponents.
And once the circle slowly closes, Poppy can send both to the moon: you’ll see the enemies slowly burn as if they were entering hell. Burn like a candle.
Mordekaiser ultimate – Realm of Death
If Poppy can send opponents to hell, then you’ll probably also enjoy a champion like Mordekaiser. By casting his ultimate, he can take one target and bring him to the Realm of Death, where the enemy will be forced to fight you as there is no way out.
It’s also great to split potential synergies between enemy duos, as they won’t be able to help each other out and peel one for the other. That said, be careful on maps where there are multiple walls: some enemies can easily dash and put themselves into an untouchable spot.

Dr. Mundo ultimate – Sadism
When it comes to healing and sustain, no one beats Dr. Mundo. Even though he’s not a popular champion in the regular 5v5 Summoner’s Rift, Dr. Mundo actually has cut his own space within LoL Arena, thanks to one of the best abilities in the game.
The ultimate, Sadism, grants him a big initial boost of health and health regeneration. In other words, he becomes an unkillable target since he’ll heal up more than the damage he would probably take. And once things get heated towards the end of each round, Dr. Mundo puts him in commanding position by regaining every bit of health he might have lost a few seconds before. Hulk but in LoL version.
Kindred ultimate – Lamb’s Respite
To round off our list of the best abilities in LoL Arena, we have yet another peeling ultimate. This time, it’s from Kindred, and for those who might know her R, she has the ability of preventing all champions from dying within an area, and healing them up at the end of the ability’s cast.
What’s more interesting is that you don’t really have to play Kindred to get this effect since there is an augment in LoL Arena that has the same effect. While it may not be the most broken ability in the game, Lamb’s Respite has game-changing power in most abilities.
