Tekken 8 CNT Exploit Could See Players Mass Banned from TWT

Tekken 8 is in the midst of its pre-release build-up. We’ve already gotten a brief network beta test for this one of the top upcoming fighting games. However, players will be trying anything they can to keep access to the early build of the game. To get more time start to really break down and learn characters. Bandai Namco has stepped in and clarified some rules around the beta, specifically that anyone using a Tekken 8 CNT exploit will be banned from the Tekken World Tour.

The situation is similar to something that happened with SFG 6’s early tests ahead of the SF 6 release date. Players got access to the early build, then spent time grinding a cracked version of SF 6 to keep that access even after official beta tests had ended. Something similar seems to be brewing with Tekken 8 at the moment, and Bandai Namco wants to put a stop to it.

Tekken 8 CNT exploit Could See Players Banned from TWT

The Tekken 8 Closed Network Test lets players try out a limited number of characters before the game releases. This is a shorter test though. There isn’t the space to really drill down and start mastering the new game. Players have instead turned to using a Tekken 8 CNT exploit. A way around Bandai Namco’s limitations to let players use this build of the game for as long as they want.

Bandai Namco have decided to clarify the situation around the rules here. Specifically, they’ve said that any players accessing the closed network test outside of the limited run are breaching the code of conduct. They may be banned from the Tekken World Tour, the biggest esports event for the game, because of this. Since the main reason to grind would be to get a head start for these competitions, it’s a serious punishment for using Tekken 8 CNT exploit.

This change in rules should hopefully dissuade players from accessing the content outside of allowed times. Although, we’ve seen with other recent games that the threat of a ban isn’t always enough to stop players. Hopefully, Tekken 8 gets wider early release so there’s a more level playing field for the TWT.
