At long last, the update we’ve all been waiting for has arrived. Italy has finally come to Counter-Strike 2! Oh, wait. Who asked for Italy?
Time For Inferno
The point of the CS2 Beta is to get the game primed for full release, right? You can’t do that if no one’s playing it, and at this point, not many actually play Hostage Rescue. Therefore, testing Italy feels a little pointless right now with bigger fish to fry.
If Valve wants gamers to really put CS2 to the test, it needs to push the Inferno update ASAP. Of all the Counter-Strike 2 maps, it seems to be the biggest update so far. On a fan-favorite, too!
Public interest in CS2 is dwindling, with the game seemingly doomed to miss its “Summer 2023” release window. At the time of writing, the CS2 Twitch category has just over 100 viewers. Not a perfect measure of interest, but compared to CS:GO’s 34,000, it’s hard not to see a pattern.
Releasing Inferno would be the perfect way to reignite community interest in CS2. It’s important that the flame doesn’t extinguish for the new title before it’s even been released.
