Baldur’s Gate 3 Developer Outlines Current Roadmap for Patches and Hotfixes

Baldur’s Gate 3 developer Larian has revealed the current roadmap for updates to the game, including a patch that makes over 1,000 fixes and tweaks.

Larian boss Swen Vincke tweeted to say the studio’s current focus is fixing issues reported by players, and insisted it is listening to suggestions.

The current roadmap for Baldur’s Gate 3 includes a fourth hotfix, Patch 1, which includes over 1,000 fixes and tweaks, and Patch 2. The latter, Vincke said, will already incorporate “some requests”.

We’re all very enthused by your feedback. It’s very rewarding. Our focus now is fixing any issues you report, but we are listening to suggestions. Current roadmap: a) Hotfix 4, b) Patch 1 (+1000 fixes and tweaks), c) Patch 2. The latter will already incorporate some requests.

Baldur’s Gate 3 has enjoyed a massive launch, and quickly became one of the biggest games on Steam ever. Players and critics have praised the freedom of choice on offer in the sprawling Dungeons & Dragons-themed role-playing game, and how well things run generally. But some have encountered bugs particularly later in the game during Act 3. Some have even reported they’re unable to finish Act 3 because of bugs. Larian will be keen to address these issues as more and more players make their way towards the end of their first Baldur’s Gate 3 playthrough.

One feature players are hoping Larian adds to Baldur’s Gate 3 is the ability to change a character’s appearance. The developer recently said this was in the works.

There’s so much going on in the virtual world of Baldur’s Gate 3, from a community debate about save scumming to players who are convinced they can “fix” Shadowheart. We recently reported on an ‘Owlbear From the Top Rope’ tactic that deals enough damage to take down pretty much anything.
