The Super Smash Con 2023 tournament is going to be a huge major with events for every game in the series. This is the biggest tournament for some of the best Switch fighting games and classics like Melee too. This is how the tournament will work and all the players to watch out for at Smash Con.

Super Smash Con 2023
Smash Con 2023 is taking place over August 10-13th, 2023. It’s a sprawling tournament with events for every instalment in the Smash Bros series. That includes lesser-seen games like Brawl, and even Wii U which has been quiet since Ultimate released. The tournament is the latest is a yearly series, but there are some big reasons to be excited about this year’s event. These are each of the individual tournaments and how they break down for prize pools and the top players competing.
Ultimate
The biggest event at Super Smash Con is going to be Ultimate. This is the latest game in Smash and the tournament is bringing together most of the major active players right now. The roster already signed up include acola, Tweek, Sonix, Onin, and more. It’s going to be one of the more exciting Smash events this year and not to be missed. After Sonix’s surprise win at GOML 2023, this could be a fun one.
Melee
The Melee side of things is the main event for a lot of players. Some of the best Smash Bros players are showing up for Melee, including aMSa. The Yoshi main has been edging up the list of the best players lately and another win here could really cement his spot.
Other Games at Super Smash Con
Melee and Ultimate are definitely the main events, but there are a few other games at Smash Con 2023. There’s the original N64 Super Smash Bros, along with a tournament for Brawl, and one for Wii U.
These will likely have similar players competing as Ultimate and Melee. Since these games don’t really have ongoing fighting game esports communities, it’ll be other Smash players dropping back into other games here.
