Skullgirls is one of the top fighting games on quite a few platforms, despite being an older title though it still isn’t available across every modern system. One notable black spot for Skullgirls 2nd Encore has been the Xbox line of consoles. Despite originally launching on the 360, the newer Skullgirls Xbox release has been delayed repeatedly, even launching on the Switch in the meantime. That’s about to change though. Skullgirls 2nd Encore is coming to Xbox!
A Skullgirls Xbox release is finally coming, launching on July 19th. It’ll be available on the Xbox One along with both the Xbox Series X/S. It’s available for pre-order at a price of $24.99, which is fairly standard for this size game. It might even end up on GamesPass eventually, now that there’s a working modern Xbox version available.

Skullgirls Xbox Release Finally Coming.
The best Xbox fighting games already include most of the big releases from major franchises. Quite a few fighting games are slower coming to the platform though, sticking to PlayStation systems and PC for a while longer. The Skullgirls Xbox release has particularly had some problems. The game was originally planned to come to the series back in 2019, October of the year.
That release would finally bring the game to more modern systems. While its long shelf life and constant updates still coming have helped Skulglgirls get a long past-launch life, the title does date back a few generations. Technical problems were blamed for the original delays in the port coming over to the Xbox series of consoles. While a 360 version was still out there, apparently technical hurdles kept the game from coming to the more modern system.
We’ve just learnt that a Skullgirls Xbox release is coming after all! This will be a new version of the game which brings it in line with modern hardware. Skullgirls is already one of the best Switch fighting games and has a loyal fanbase on PlayStation, adding more Xbox consoles to its player base is sure to help open things up and let even more players try the title out.
Skullgirls might have originally released in 2012, but the title is actually still getting content updates like new fighters in 2nd encore. It’s also a regular feature at some of the biggest tournaments for fighting games esports. This new release will let more people than ever try the game out.
