Compared to past EVO tournaments, there’s a big change in the Finals. While we’ve still got pools then a bracket, it’s now the Top 6. This makes the finals quite a bit smaller than the Top 8 featured in different years. There are more and more announcements, trailers, and other news taking up time. While brackets are the focus, the schedule is pretty packed. Between this and getting more ads in on streams, it seems this change is something will have to adjust to now Sony owns the tournament series. Along with only using PS versions of games beyond titles like Tekken 7 at EVO, it’s one of their biggest changes.

The final totals for the EVO 2023 prizes are now released too. Although, not a huge surprise which is on top. While every tournament has a decent prize, SF 6 has reached a huge $75K in total. With the prizes now confirmed, we can really start to gear up for EVO 2023. The schedule looks like it’s going to keep fans pretty busy over the three days.
