Best LoL Arena team comps – increase your chances of victory

Here are the best team comps for LoL Arena mode:

Master Yi and Taric
Twitch and Cassiopeia
Annie and Jax
Kayle and Warwick
Heimerdinger and Illaoi

We will be going over the main strengths and synergies for all these comps. Considering that most of these champions are highly contested and banned, we will also be including the best alternatives for all champions, so that you always know how to adjust in champion select.

You can also check out our individual champion tier list for LoL Arena, so you have an idea of which champions are strongest in the game mode. Without further ado, let’s jump right into it!

Master Yi and Taric

The first one on the list is none other than the No. 1 pairing for the Arena game mode, Master Yi and Taric. While many may be familiar with this duo back when players were abusing the funneling strategy on Summoners’ Rift a few years ago, some of the new players might not know why it’s so powerful.

To put it simply, Taric compensates all of Master Yi’s weaknesses with his own kit. He provides heals and shields, as well as the ability to make him invulnerable to all damage and crowd controls with the ultimate. And considering Master Yi’s insane DPS and dueling potential, he can use that time frame to wipe out the enemy pairings.

And while it takes time to ramp up in power in the normal game modes, in LoL Arena the two become strong as soon as the two unlock their ultimates, which starts from the third round. Unless both of you you heavily misplay, getting Master Yi and Taric is basically a guaranteed auto-win.

Taric, in particular, is highly banned due to his synergy with multiple champions. With that in mind, you can find some of the alternatives for both champions:

Master Yi alternative – Kayle, Fiora, Vayne
Taric alternative – Sona, Kennen, Heimerdinger

Twitch and Cassiopeia

You might be surprised to see this pairing, and honestly, I was at first too. But if you think about it, these two perfectly take advantage of each other’s poisonous effects, especially Cassiopeia. She can get empowered Twin Fangs (E) as soon as Twitch puts one stack of venom onto the enemies. Both of them scale incredibly well, and if they’re able to chain their ultimates, they can 100-0 any other team.

That being said, the two will struggle early on and they’ll start coming online after getting at least two items. You need to have great coordination: make sure to avoid messing up and losing unnecessary rounds if you want to finish first with this comp. They are not as high a priority as other comps currently, so you’ll likely find them both available to play in most lobbies.

Cassiopeia alternative – Singed, Vi

Annie and Jax

It might be a strange pairing at first, but the one-shot potential these two provide is pretty unbalanced. Annie has essentially a point-and-click stun with her passive, which Jax can easily follow up with his own Counter-Strike (E), and vice-versa. In other words, as long as one can get a stun onto the enemies, they are likely bound to die.

What’s even better is that this duo gets stronger as the game goes on, and it’s a perfect counter to most meta comps as well. Annie has burst damage to kill squishy targets, while Jax is responsible for the DPS and will win against most champions during extended trades. If you’re not totally convinced, just try it out once: you will not be disappointed.

Jax alternative – Warwick, Kennen, Cassiopeia

Kayle and Warwick

Kayle and Warwick might not be a pairing you would consider initially, but they have complementary characteristics that compensate for each other’s weaknesses, which is why they are among the best LoL arena team comps.

Warwick is strong early on with his heals and DPS and will make up for Kayle’s weaker early game. Once she gets a few items and at least to level 11, that’s when the two will swap roles: Kayle becomes the carry and Warwick will tank most of the damage for her and provide vital crowd controls to peel her.

And once Kayle gets to full build and level 18, she will be unstoppable. Only a few champions can beat her at that point, and as long as you time the ultimate correctly, your chances of ending up with a victory will soar.

Kayle alternative – Taric, Kindred, Heimerdinger
Warwick alternative – Trundle, Fiora, Annie

Heimerdinger and Illaoi

Heimerdinger and Illaoi also make a fearsome combo. Thanks to both champions’ incredible AoE damage, they are able to quickly wipe out most enemies. What’s more impressive, though, is that they perform best whenever the circle of Death reduces in size: at that point, enemies will be forced to engage in a fight with Illaoi and Heimderdinger, and the latter will always prevail.

While some players may not enjoy playing this way, everything is part of the game. If you’re looking to climb the ladder in LoL Arena, you have to play the strongest team comps available. And these two are definitely one of those.

Illaoi alternative – Jayce, Kindred, Taric
