The Last of Us Part 1's Latest Update on PC Makes It Steam Deck Verified

The Last of Us Part 1 on PC is now Steam Deck Verified thanks to the game’s latest update that also focuses on performance improvements, fixing various crashes, and more.

The news arrives via The Last of Us Part 1’s v1.1.0 patch notes for PC, and the Steam Deck verification is a welcome addition, especially after Naughty Dog confirmed it wasn’t a priority for the team around the game’s launch earlier this year.

It should be a good sign that many of the issues The Last of Us Part 1’s PC players have been experiencing have been addressed since this lower-priority item has now been checked off Naughty Dog’s list.

The Last of Us Part 1 arrived on PC on March 28 and was almost immediately slammed on Steam for a various number of its performance issues. Naughty Dog was quick to respond and offer fixes, and a note at the bottom of this latest update confirms the studio and its partners at Iron Galaxy are “closely watching player reports to support future improvements and patches. We are actively optimizing, working on game stability, and implementing additional fixes which will all be included in regularly released future updates.”

In our The Last of Us Part 1 review for PS5, we said, “A gorgeous and well-honed remake of one of the biggest boppers in the PlayStation pantheon, The Last of Us Part I is the best way to play – or replay – Naughty Dog’s esteemed survival classic.”

You can check out the full v1.1.0 patch notes below, and for more, check out our PC vs PS5 vs Steam Deck performance review from April 2023, our review of the first season of HBO’s The Last of Us, and the news of the reported troubles facing The Last of Us multiplayer game.
