Supercell is famous for making titles loved by mobile gamers worldwide and the Finnish developer has now unveiled its latest title, Floodrush.
Floodrush is currently in a closed regional beta for Android users in Australia, Singapore, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and the U.S. The beta will be live until June 7 as Supercell tests out the game over a large audience before deciding on its future.
What is Floodrush exactly?
If you have watched the trailer for Floodrush, you may have been left a little bit confused as to what the game is about. Supercell is known to make games which don’t fit into a traditional genre and the company’s latest title isn’t an exception to that.
Floodrush is a real-time strategy game in which eight seekers fight on a sinking island for supremacy. It’s a combination of a MOBA and a battle royale title but has got the Supercell touch in it with its unique gameplay.
Another important thing about the game is that it doesn’t look connected to the Clash universe. All the characters and even the core artwork are distinct.
You start each game with your seeker, who you can move around by tapping on the screen. You can open chests or collect treasure to bring in more troops on your side. It’s essential to farm at the beginning of each match to make your troops as strong as possible before engaging in battle with the seven enemies for supremacy.
You can command your seeker and the troops by tapping on the screen, making it a real-time action strategy title.

What is the future of the game?
Floodrush looks like an exciting and fun title. However, some of the initial reviews of the game have been a bit negative. One player complained that the “artwork” for the game doesn’t fit the general Supercell art style at all. Others have also said that it feels similar to Squad Busters.
Nonetheless, Supercell has been known to sometimes keep games in extended beta periods. It releases the game when the company is sure of its long-term success. The developer is also notorious for killing off games. Some of the recent games which it has killed include Everdale, Clash Quest, Hay Day Pop, and Rush Wars.

Supercell usually makes the same argument for killing the games. The dev says that the title didn’t meet its “extremely high standards.”
Floodrush will certainly be going through the same level of scrutiny by the developers. The current version is the first-ever regional closed beta. Thus, there might already be a lot that Supercell might already have in mind in terms of its development.
However, if it doesn’t meet the developer’s standards, it will join a long list of games that were killed.
