Street Fighter 6 has had a huge launch, with tons of players jumping in to try out the next-gen fighting game experience. Pretty much everyone in fighting games is jumping into the new title, helping the Street Fighter 6 player count to break 1 million in a single weekend!
1 million might not be huge for the Fortnite player count or some other shooters, but for a fighting game this is an amazing start. It gets it partway towards eclipsing Street Fighter V, and ahead of some of the more niche fighting games after just a single weekend! With a long life left ahead, the player count is looking impressive already.
Street Fighter 6 Player Count Crosses 1 Million
The Street Fighter 6 player count in opening weekend has already crossed 1 million players! How does that compare to other fighting games though? Itโs already up there as one of the best fighting games of this generation in sales. A single week in, itโs a decent chunk into Street Fighter Vโs lifetime sales of 7 million. Itโs also just passed major fighting games like Guilty Gear Strive too!
This milestone for the player count has helped the series pass a target too. The whole franchise has now crossed a total of 50 million players! That puts it pretty high up. Itโs not quite Brawlhallaโs 100 million accounts, but Street Fighter 6 isnโt free to play either!

In terms of how many of the Street Fighter player count are active, the numbers weโve seen from Steam have been pretty impressive so far. The title has managed to hit 64,000 concurrent players. That massively blows away previous highs for the big 3 fighting franchises, Street Fighter Mortal Kombat, and Tekken. The previous instalment in SF topped out at 14,783, considerably below this early achievement for Street Fighter 6.
Whatโs Next for SF 6?
The Street Fighter 6 player count is reaching new heights, what does this mean for the gameโs future though? The title is set to get a character pass and Ultimate pass, a form of Street Fighter Battle Pass. This will include extra content eventually, but at the start just itโs Drive Tickets before we actually get to more characters, costumes, and more.
