Spider-Man 2 launches October 20 on PS5, Insomniac announced during Summer Game Fest.
One of the game’s big mysteries is the identity of Venom. Insomniac wouldn’t say who is behind the famous anti-hero, but did rule out Eddie Brock.
In Spider-Man 2 you play as both Peter Parker and Miles Morales. You control both Spider-Men at different points of the campaign, but in the open world you can switch nearly instantly between them as you explore Manhattan, Queens, and Brooklyn. Both Spider-Men have stories and missions in the world exclusive to each of them, Insomniac said.
Confirmed villains include the aforementioned Venom, Lizard, and Kraven. Each character’s arm represents their new abilities (Peter with the symbiote, Miles with his evolved bioelectric Venom powers).
If you pre-order any version you get an early unlock of the Arachknight Suit for Peter with three additional colour variants, an early unlock Shadow Spider Suit for Miles with three additional color variants, an early unlock Web Grabber gadget, and three skill points.
The Digital Deluxe edition includes the game, all the pre-order incentives, and 10 unique suits (five for Peter, five for Miles), additional Photo Mode frames and stickers, and two additional skill points.
These 10 suits were designed by guest artists including Kris Anka, Julia Blattman, Sweeney Boo, Anthony Francisco, Raf Grassetti, Jerad Maantz, Joel Mandish, Darren Quach, and Victoria Ying.
And finally, the Collector’s Edition includes a voucher for the Digital Deluxe Edition, a Steelbook case, and a 19-inch statue featuring Spider-Men battling Venom.
