This is the third Nintendo Direct we are getting this year and the second focused primarily on games coming to Nintendo Switch. In February, the first Nintendo Direct of the year provided us with information of games that were coming out in the first half of the year, such as The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. While the March 2023 Nintendo Direct focused on the Super Mario Bros. movie.
Nintendo’s slim release slate for the rest of 2023 includes Everybody 1-2 Switch on June 30, Pikmin 4 in July, and the Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet DLC The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero set to kick off this fall with Part 1: The Teal Mask. In May, Nintendo put a stop to rumours about its new hardware, whether it’s the long-rumoured Switch Pro or otherwise, by declaring a Switch successor won’t release until April 2024 at the earliest.
