Apex Legends Patch on June 20th – Seer Changes, Weapon Nerfs & Meta Shift

The Armed & Dangerous limited-time mode is returning as part of Apex Legends’ Dressed to Kill event. The update also includes legendary skins, a Dressed to Kill reward track, and other features.

There are a lot more modifications in the game with this patch. Most impactful are the adjustments to the current craftable weapon rotation and the changes to the Seer Legend.

Apex Legends  Balancing Updates – June 20

One of the most significant news from this patch notes is the weapon rotation in crafting. New guns that have been added to the rotation such as the R-99 and the Rampage Light Machine Gun. The Alternator Submachine Gun and Sentinel return to the floor loot as well.

The respawn rate from the Evac Tower has also been reduced. This is mainly done to make sure that they are not that prevalent in the game and matches the heat shields. The Mobile Respawns Beacon has had an increase in its spawn rate. This will result in a higher number of respawn beacons that players will notice on the map. This could lead there for games to lasting a bit longer as there could be more teammates that have been respawned back.

Apex Legends Weapon Updates

After multiple tweets and requests by fans about how overpowered the Nemesis Burst AR is, it has been confirmed to be getting a nerf in this patch.

Currently one of the strongest guns in the game, it has been nerfed by having the projectile speed reduced as well as the projectile gravity increased as well. The changes almost disallow bullets hitting a player in rapid succession but also have some form of bullet drop. Due to the gravity increase, the weapon isn’t going to be as good in long-range duels.

The next gun which has been tweaked is the EVA-8, and it receives major buffs in base fire rate and range of fire. Currently, it is still one of the good shotguns in the game but with the buffs, chances are high that we will see be equipped more often. Due to how good it is in close range with characters such as Bangalore.

Apex Legends Character Changes

Now we can get to the juicy and exciting bit of the patch notes.

The first major change comes in for the Seer. Mainly seen as a rework of the character, his heartbeat sensor has its range reduced from 75 meters to 50 meters. The initial heartbeat delay has been reduced significantly as well.

These changes are going to result in players finding it tougher to be able to scan various locations and buildings for information on the map. Focus Of Attention firing range has also been reduced to 60 meters and the firing speed has been increased by 30%. The scan time has been reduced to 2.5 seconds from 8 seconds and enemies hit with this ability will be slowed now for 2.5 seconds.

Devs have also removed the heal cancel and revive cancel ability for Seer.

The final change is in his ultimate (Exhibit). The throw range has now been reduced to 15 meters instead of 50. Thus many look at these changes more than a nerf as a rework of the character to change his playstyle. This patch is also going to reduce the impact of the scan meta in the game currently. This is so as players will now need to time their ability with Seer and make the most of the 10 seconds of their enemies not being allowed to use their abilities.
