Alone on Cache’s A-site, NiKo fears nothing as Titan descend upon him, lining up perfectly for a crisp Deagle ace. It’s a textbook lesson on how to clutch on CS:GO. Peek, kill. Re-peek, kill. Rinse and repeat until they’re all dead. This CS:GO clutch is certainly one of the best in history, with the reputation it cemented for NiKo enduring to this day.
4. m0NESY vs MIBR – BLAST Premier Spring Group 2022
The baby GOAT was just 16 years old when he pulled off one of the best CS:GO clutches of all time against MIBR.
Left isolated in the open of Inferno’s B-site, in a 1v4 with 15 seconds to plant. It’s an unwinnable scenario, for anyone but m0NESY. Throughout this CS:GO clutch, he shows incredible awareness of where every enemy should be, as he walks them down like a terminator on a mission. He even gets style points for his crazy flick on brnz4n for the third kill. With the final kill, m0NESY shows he’s got the composure to match his mechanics, showing patience to hold the angle beyond his years.
Already one of the best CS:GO players in the world, m0NESY’s career is one to watch. He’s already shown plenty of CS:GO tips on the server you can take for your own game.
3. HObbit vs Immortals – PGL Major Krakow 2017
If you want to know how to clutch on CS:GO, there’s no better clip to watch than HObbit vs Immortals. This 1v4 is the perfect example of how important crosshair placement and spray control is to the overall CS:GO clutch skillset. The result here is some of the best CS:GO Major kills you’re ever likely to see.
HObbit’s CS:GO clutch has a beautiful simplicity to it. He sits in Pool of Inferno’s B-site, and he sprays until they’re all dead. What makes this one of the best CS:GO clutches ever is the stakes. This wasn’t just any ordinary game – HObbit did this in the final map of a Major Grand Final. At 11:8, the game could turn on its head if Immortals are able to take it. Instead, HObbit takes all the wind out of their sails, swinging the momentum in Gambit’s favor.
Gambit weren’t ever a team on their way to breaking all of the CS:GO Major records, but this clutch was enough to send them on their way to their one and only title.
2. ropz vs G2 – IEM Katowice 2022
Map 1 of the Grand Final of IEM Katowice 2022 was all done and dusted, or so it seemed. G2 were 15:14 up, with only ropz and karrigan alive for FaZe.
With karrigan too far away to have any impact, it had to be ropz to save the day. Sandwiched on Inferno’s A-short, players approaching from every angle, it should have been an impossible ask. For ropz, impossible is nothing. He used every bit of cover to his advantage, scrubbing every FaZe player from the server one by one. Given the stakes, this definitely goes down as one of the best CS:GO clutches ever.
1. cadiaN vs Gambit – ESL Pro League Season 13
Last but certainly not least, it’s cadiaN’s winning play at ESL Pro League Season 13. The audacity to attempt anything he achieves here is remarkable. He doesn’t just try – he does.
It begins with a botched knife kill, leaving him with half HP. Then, he puts nafany in the dirt with just 2 HP, before hitting a seemingly-impossible wallbang on interz. His final victim is Ax1Le, who falls to an incredible AWP flick. Pulling this off in any match would see it go down as an all-time great CS:GO clutch. But to do this as the winning play of a Grand Final puts this right at the top of our list.
Of course, cadiaN is no stranger to CS:GO clutches. Before his career comes to a close, hopefully he can deliver many more moments of brilliance and excitement to the server.
