Shrine Locations in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

Nintendo’s The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is living up to its reputation, but not every shrine location is obvious. The Zelda games have often topped ‘greatest video game’ lists, and Nintendo’s latest iteration seems to be honoring this notable tradition.

Like all Zelda games, there are many locations worth exploring, and Tears of the Kingdom has not disappointed on that account. It has an astounding 152 shrines! Locating these shrines and solving the puzzles can make the most astute player lose track of time, and each shrine has its own unique charm. We can’t cover all 152 shrines, so this piece will look at some shrines from all over the Hyrule map that you must locate to enhance your Tears of the Kingdom experience.

Zelda Tears of the Kingdom Shrine Locations

Mayachin Shrine

The Mayachin Shrine is the perfect place to start, as it is in Central Hyrule. It’s easy to see too, you’ll find it just ahead of Hyrule Field Skyview Tower. Here, you’ll have to hit a ball with a baseball bat on target. Of course, there are a few obstacles, like ground spikes and a rotating switch, that won’t make it easy. Perhaps it would be a little easier with one of the best Nintendo Switch controllers. We wouldn’t be surprised if you need a few attempts before getting onto the treasure chest in this shrine.

Mayaumekis Shrine

The second shrine on the list is the Mayaumekis Shrine (Downward Force). This shrine is located up in the sky above the Hebra region. You’ll come across this when you pass through the Tulin of Rito Village quest.

Once you’ve reached the area, you must hit a switch using an arrow through the bars. To open the final door, you’ll need to traverse through the ships’ sails to cross the gap. Have your bow ready in midair and shoot the switch through the bars. Only then can you open the door.

Susuyai Shrine in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

The Susuyai Shrine is the second shrine on this list from Central Hyrule. It’s located southwest of Lookout Landing and the lookout landing Skyview Tower.

When you get there, evade the cars and capture one for yourself using Ultrahand on your way out and drive upwards. Then, drive the car into the device on the other side and keep the door open as you go through. In the last room, use Ultrahand to create a base that allows you to cross the gap. Finally, activate the device to move ahead and complete the task.

Orochium Shrine

Orochium Shrine is certainly not a shrine that you’ll just come across. It is deep in the wintry Hebra Mountains north of the Snowfield Stable so you’ll need to look for it.

In this shrine, you’ll have to capture a ball from a maze’s center. First, head to the left and use the Ascend command to move inside the puzzle. Then, use Ultrahand to open the double doors and get hit by a laser to fall through the trapdoor. Dodge the last set of lasers, head through the ceiling to collect a key. Use the Ascend command again to capture the ball. Take the ball up the elevators, attach it to your glider with Ultrahand, and head down to get it on target.
