It’s finally here – the Season 03 Reloaded update has dropped, and it brings with it a massive list of changes, amendments, and some content that players have been waiting a long time to receive. For the popular battle royale platform, we’re happy to confirm that Warzone Ranked Play has been introduced – in beta form, at least. For those soaking up the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Season 3 Reloaded update (that’s a mouthful), there’s a stack of content included.
From a new multiplayer map, a sizeable camo challenge, fresh weapons, equipment, and hundreds of fixes and changes, there’s plenty of content for Call of Duty fans to soak up. It must be said that the Season 03 Reloaded update is something impressive, but out the back of it come several changes that may disappoint some fans, such as weapon nerfs – and buffs.
So, what’s in the Season 03 Reloaded update? Great question!
What’s In The Season 03 Reloaded Update?
Let’s start with what players are most excited about – the Warzone Ranked Play Beta. With new playlists, leaderboards, and an all-new ranking structure, the Warzone Ranked Play Beta gives the best Call of Duty players in the world a chance to flex their talents once and for all on the Warzone 2.0 platform. From the earliest impressions, it seems like Warzone Ranked Play is a win, and some mechanics have been woven into the mode to prevent cheaters from making an appearance.
There’s also a new weather mechanic being introduced, bringing a sandstorm to Al Mazrah that’s going to disrupt visibility on a sizeable scale.
When it comes to the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Season 3 Reloaded update, there’s even more content. Firstly, there’s an all-new map – Alboran Hatchery – a 6v6 map set in Spain that players will instantly recognise from the campaign. It’s a location that’s stormed by Gaz and Price during a high-stakes sniper mission. For those new to the game, Infinity Ward has set up a blog breaking down every inch of this map.
There are also three new weapons – the GS Magna, a fully automatic .50 handgun, and the FTAC Siege, a rapid-fire machine pistol. It seems that speed and agility are the order of the day in the Season 03 Reloaded update. There’s also a new throwable – the Throwing Star – which takes on the same mechanics as a throwing knife.
How to Unlock the GS Magna:
Secure 30 Headshot Operator kills with the .50 GS
How to Unlock the FTAC Siege:
Secure 50 Hip Fire Operator kills with Handguns
How to Unlock the Throwing Star in MW2:
Secure 50 Operator kills with the Throwing Knife
There’s also an all-new Raid on the platform – Atomgrad Raid Episode 03 is readily available. If you complete this raid successfully, you’ll unlock Alex as an Operator.
Too Many Changes To Count Them
There’s a huge article on the Call of Duty website that breaks down every single change made in the Season 03 Reloaded update, but we’ll summarise the most important changes here. It’s a sizeable list to be sure, and it seems like some real work has gone into the deployment of the Season 03 Reloaded patch.
Here are some of the most impactful amendments making their way to Warzone 2.0 and Modern Warfare 2:
Weapon raising and dropping have been made faster
Time-to-kill values have been slowed down
Vaznev-9K damage range nerfed
TAQ-56 damage range nerfed
Maximum armour damage decreased or added for almost all guns in Warzone 2.0 to change TTK
Large magazines are more agile now
Small magazines are even more agile
UAVs only work for those that deployed them in Warzone 2.0
There are also hundreds of bug fixes and quality-of-life improvements available to install in the Season 03 Reloaded update, which is never a bad thing!
We think you’ll agree that Season 03 Reloaded is massive – it could be one of the best updates to hit the platform since Warzone 2.0 and Modern Warfare 2 launched late last year.
