Pokémon Stadium will be the latest N64 game released for Nintendo Switch Online when it launches on April 12.
The classic game will also have online multiplayer functionality for the first time, letting players battle their teams of Kanto Pokémon with their friends over the internet.
The game will be available at no extra cost to users who have a Nintendo Switch Online membership and have purchased the Expansion Pass as part of the N64 library.
Alongside its multiplayer modes, Pokémon Stadium has a single player section where players can take on four elite tournaments or head back to the Red and Blue days to challenge Kanto’s best trainers in Gym Leader Castle. Finding success in both these modes will then unlock an ultimate challenge.
Pokémon Stadium is the 23rd N64 game to join the Nintendo Switch Online library as it joins other fan favourites such as The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Pokémon Snap, Star Fox 64, and more.
Owning the N64 library also grants users access to the recently released Game Boy and Game Boy Advanced collections, though no Pokémon games have made an appearance here yet.
In our original 8/10 review of Pokémon Stadium, IGN said: “It’s fun, it’s smart, it’s jam-packed with cool options and it’s for Pokémon owners only.”
