The Overwatch League is making a return for the new 2023 Season. Players can catch all the action starting this weekend, but there’s some extra incentives to drop by the stream and see how the games are going. Players can get free OWL drops in 2023 through the official streams.
This is everything you can unlock through the drops, and how to make sure you get all of them!
OWL Drops 2023
The Overwatch League in 2023 is having quite a few changes. There’s a new format, and new Overwatch characters have been added since last season. The drops are staying pretty similar to previous seasons though.
While the system for OWL drops in 2023 is similar, the rewards for Overwatch are a bit different in some ways. Since Overwatch 2 monetization is so different form the original game, it’s a rarer opportunity to grab a free skin than in previous seasons! While more stuff needs payments, you can get special skins that match each of the OWL teams.
This is how you can get the drops, and what you’ll unlock.
What Can You Get?
For watching the Overwatch League, you can get drops of free OWL Tokens. These are a different currency used in Overwatch, which you can only use on select items. For every hour that you watch, you’ll get Overwatch League tokens which you can redeem for skins.
On top of the OWL drops in tokens, you also get extra rewards You’ll receive a name card for watching four hours. You’ll also get a Contenders and Champions spray after two hours of watching.
If you watch six hours of OWL during the whole spring Stage, you’ll get Orisa Overwatch League home and away skin. For watching ten hours, you’ll get Genji home and away skins.
How to Get the OWL Drops in 2023
Setting things up to get all of the OWL drops in 2023 is a simple process. This is how you can do it.
Link your YouTube and Battle.net Accounts – You can do this on the official website.
Watch the OWL on YouTube – Make sure you’re using the same account that got leaked.
Redeem the Incentives In-game
This is all you’ll need to do to get the YouTube drops! Each hour watched counts towards getting more rewards. If you can watch the majority of the OWL in 2023, you’ll end up with more than enough rewards to get a skin! You won’t receive tokens using the Mobile app either. Some smart TVs don’t allow you to redeem the tokens either.
Are There Twitch Drops in 2023?
OWL drops in 2023 are going to be on YouTube like normal, but what about Twitch? This year the OWL broadcast isn’t exclusive to YouTube through the rights deal. However, Blizzard has decided to still only broadcast on YouTube anyway. That means there won’t be any Twitch drops!
Over the course of OW 2, Overwatch has run Twitch drops to promote new seasons and other updates. While there’s no OWL rewards here, you can keep an eye out for drops on Twitch throughout the year. You can get exclusive skins outside of the OWL rewards. These are run periodically, so keep an eye on Overwatch news to see when a new one pops up.
