With the Scarlet and Violet DLC coming very soon, new Pokémon are set to join the ninth Generation soon. Right now, there aren’t many confirmed to arrive alongside the DLC. Nintendo is keeping many things secret and fans will probably be surprised when the DLC comes out.
Naturally, more gameplay and perhaps even more areas in the Paldea region will be available. However, the big draw is going to be new creatures, as it always is.
What we know about new Pokémon coming in Scarlet Violet DLC
The latest information comes with very little actual information. The new Pokémon that the company just teased on Twitter doesn’t even have a name or type.
All it says is:
“Its splendid aura is reminiscent of the Legendary Pokémon Terapagos, but this Pokémon’s name and true nature are shrouded in mystery.”
It will be found in Area Zero, so there’s a good chance it is actually connected to Terapagos. Speaking of, Terapagos is another creature confirmed to be coming in the next DLC. Nintendo revealed recently the turtle-like Pokémon that is coming soon. Unfortunately, there’s not much more information about it than the unnamed mystery creatures. Fans do not know the typing, size or anything else besides the name right now.
It’s also unclear how these fit into the past and future them that was presented in the storyline.
Terapagos was first teased in the anime. It may have multiple evolutions, too. Right now, it’s unclear how this one relates to the unnamed, recently teased one. As of now, The Pokémon Company has announced just three other upcoming Pokémon.
Munkidori, Okidogi and Fezandipiti have been announced via Serebii. Aside from having pun names, there’s no connection between the three right now.
Walking Wake and Iron Leaves coming soon
Furthermore, Nintendo announced Iron Leaves and Walking Wake on Pokémon Day. They came together. Iron Leaves appears to be a futuristic version of Virizion, the Legendary Pokémon. This is in keeping with the futuristic theme of Violet’s Area Zero. Futuristic versions of Tyranitar, Hydreigon, Donphan and more spawn there.
Walking Wake appears to be a past version of Suicune, the Legendary Beast. This matches with Scarlet’s theme of introducing past relatives of Pokémon like Jigglypuff, Amoonguss, Misdreavus and others.
Look for all of these in winter. Nintendo has not set a specific release date yet. Additionally, this is likely just the first of many DLCs and creatures. Most entries get a few rounds of content before Nintendo lets the game go.
