With the 2023 LoL MSI approaching soon, some leaks have revealed the skins that will be featured in a potential in-game event.
The 2023 LoL MSI will have special skins for the occasion
League usually pushes out new skins every time a patch is delivered, which is usually once every two weeks. While this is nothing new for some of the more veteran players, there are some important leaks that might spice things up in a few weeks’ time.
Content creator BigBadBear revealed new information regarding some new skins that will hit the rift very soon. It looks like it will be a special skin line that will make its debut around the Mid-Season Invitational, which takes place during May.
While we don’t know how many champions will be part of this skin line, there are three candidates that are pretty much locked in, if BigBadBear is correct about his leaks. The three champions are:
Udyr
Volibear
Master Yi
On top of these three, it looks like a fourth champion will be getting a new skin. According to BigBadBear, Yone should be the one getting a skin this year since there have been various rumors for a new skin coming for him. That said, he’s not sure whether it’s going to be a prestige skin or a legendary one. The other potential candidate might be Shen, which also has a “Samurai” theme.
In another video, BigBadBear revealed some of the promo art for the international tournament, showcasing a poster with Kai’sa, hinting at the fact that she might be getting a special skin for the occasion as well.

What are the concepts for the MSI skins?
According to the leaks, the images show a mix of Bloodmoon and the Supreme Cells skins from Wild Rift. The only thing that we’re 100% sure of is that the skin color will be red, which was already mentioned when Riot revealed the theme for the tournament earlier this year. With a little bit of black mixed in, these are likely going to form the main color scheme for MSI.
LoL MSI Event Release Date
The 2023 Mid-Season Invitational will kick off on May 2nd, 2023 so expect the event to drop around that time. It will likely drop on Patch 13.9 which, according to the patch schedule, is set to hit the live servers on May 3rd. Regardless, expect it to be around the end of April or the beginning of May.
With teams across the world fighting to represent their countries at MSI, make sure to catch up on the recent action by watching playoffs across the LCS, LEC, LPL, and LCK.
