LoL free champion rotation: Feb. 28th – Mar. 7th

League of Legends is in its 14th year of existence, ever since it went live back in 2009. Throughout the years, Riot has made constant changes to the game, adding champions and bringing updates to make the game refreshing. Learning and mastering all these characters takes time. Riot has a system that unlocks champions with Blue Essence, but getting all of them requires a lot of playtime.

Luckily for newcomers and those who do not wish to spend money to get the champions, Riot gives players the chance to try most of them with the weekly champion rotation, allowing them to test out the given champion for free.

Currently, the developers allow you to get 16 free champions each week. The free champion rotation switches up every week on Tuesday, so make sure to come and check out which ones you can try on Summoners’ Rift for the given week.

These are the champions that are part of this week’s free champion rotation:

Azir
Blitzcrank
Darius
Dr. Mundo
Elise
Gwen
Karma
Lillia
Pyke
Ryze
Tahm
Taric
Tristana
Trundle
Twisted Fate
Xayah

Best champions to play in this week’s free rotation

League of Legends is an extremely dynamic game, where patches can make certain strategies or champions stronger than others. By looking at the current weekly rotation, we are going to break down the strongest champions to play, one per role.

Top – Darius
Jungle – Elise
Mid – Azir
ADC – Xayah
Support – Blitzcrank

Darius has been one of the strongest top laners in the game for quite a while. He offers more damage than normal juggernauts, and it’s super fun to play when you can get those sweet resets with his ultimate Noxian Guillotine.

If you’re looking for a strong jungler to play, pick up Elise. Despite the nerfs in recent patches, she is still a great option and one of the best early-game champions in LoL.

There aren’t many choices when it comes to mid laners this week, but Azir is a great control mage with insane carry potential. He’s a bit demanding mechanically, but all the best mid laners in the world have a great Azir.

For ADCs, instead, make sure to try out Xayah. Not only is she super fun to play, but she’s also one of the most powerful picks in the entire game this patch. Thanks to her feathers, she will pierce through all her enemies.

To round off the list, we have Blitzcrank in the support role. After the recent nerfs to ranged supports, he’s now rising up as a top-tier pick. There is no other support that can punish bad positioning as much as Blitzcrank. If you want to make the enemies suffer during the laning phase, jump with him on Summoners’ Rift.

These are our recommendations for the week! That said, feel free to try everyone out: maybe you’ll find a special chemistry with other champions! We’ll be back tomorrow to see who you can try in the following LoL free champion rotation!
