Everything to Expect at DH San Diego Smash Bros
Everything to Expect at DH San Diego Smash Bros

Competitive Smash Bros is coming hot off the heels of a Steve win at the final Smash Summit, but there’s not going to be much time for rest. There are more big events fast approaching. With previous tournaments this year seeing some big upheavals in how players have finished, every tournament is going to count! DH San Diego Smash Bros is one of the biggest fighting game events at the show, there are plenty of reasons to think this is going to be an important clash.

The tournament might not hit the heights of the DreamHack Brawlhalla prize pool. However, Smash Bros is seeing a bigger prize and more high-profile attendees than most of the other fighting games at the event. This is what you can expect at Smash Bros DH San Diego.

DH San Diego Smash Bros Ultimate

The Ultimate side of things is one of the most well-funded tournaments across fighters. There’s a total prize pool of $6,000, with $5,000 of that being purely for the singles competitors. The matches scheduled over the whole weekend, starting with Doubles on Friday April 7th. Pools will be played the next day.

Things will eventually conclude on Sunday April 9th, when we’ll see the final bracket for singles. While the very best Smash Bros players are yet to be confirmed, there’s still some big talent on the board for the event. These are some of the top competitors that are already confirmed for DH San Diego Smash Bros Ultimate event.

Something that’s been impressive about Ultimate this year is more new characters hitting the top tier. The entrants for the DH event reflect this too, with some diverse fighters getting representation, not just those at the top of the Smash Bros Ultimate tier list.

DH San Diego Smash Bros Melee

Ultimate might have a slightly bigger prize pool, but there’s a lot to get excited about for Melee at DH San Diego Smash Bros. This side of the tournament has a prize pool of $5,000 in total, with $4,000 for singles.

The format for the event is going to be much the same as Ultimate. It starts with pools on Saturday. The final 8 is played on Saturday night too, starting right after the broadcast of Ultimate ends! This way, everyone can catch both Smash Bros finals at DreamHack San Diego.

Melee at DreamHack San Diego features a lot of great players showing up, including one of the most impressive over the last year. This could be a chance for aMSa to take yet another big tournament win with Yoshi now he’s successfully pushed the character to the top of the game at Scuffed. These are some of the big players among the 125 taking part.

How to Watch Both DH San Diego Smash Bros Events

The DreamHack San Diego Smash Bros events are both taking place over the entire weekend. You can catch both events on the official steam for DH Fighters along with other games. Although, titles like Brawlhalla will also be running their own dedicated streams outside of the big one. The official stream should be the best way to watch at least the final bracket though to see which players take victory at this event.
