This week we’ve seen more details of the next instalment in Tekken, but things aren’t slowing down for 7. Tekken 7 is going to make up a major part of the DreamHack Fighters over at DH San Diego. While there’s been plenty before, San Diego is our biggest yet for fighting games at DreamHack. The DH San Diego Tekken tournament is offering a pretty impressive prize pool for players to fight for.
There’s also going to be some big talent attending such as the winners of past DreamHack Fighters events. This is how the tournament is all going to work, the top players to watch for, and how you can follow the action.
Format for DH San Diego Tekken 7
The tournament for Tekken 7 is going to roughly match the others at DreamHack. It’s the same format as we have for games like Street Fighter at DH SD. It starts out with pools before the top players are funnelled into a bracket. Things get most interesting as we hit the top 8. This entire bracket format is played in a double-elimination system. This means if a player gets knocked out winners, we still get to see them try to redeem their run in the lower bracket before the grand final.
Prize Pool
The prize pool for Tekken 8 DH SC isn’t quite on the level of DH Brawlhalla’s huge prize pool, or even some like Guilty Gear. At $2,000 though there’s still a decent prize to be fought for here. This is how the prize works out for the tournament.
1st – $1,000
2nd – $500
3rd – $300
4th – $200
Since this is a smaller prize pool than some others at DreamHack San Diego Fighters, there’s no prize for 5-8th. However, there will be fewer players for this event too so things roughly even out.
Players
The DH San Diego Tekken 7 tournament is still attracting some major players. The attendees include Shadow, who won a previous DH fighters event at DreamHack Atlanta 2022. He’s a good player to watch for at the tournament, but these are all of the major players that are going to be there.

The pools part of the tournament isn’t going to be broadcast, but you can catch the top 6. The bracket will be played out on stream over Sunday, 10 Am to 12 PM. Then we’ll see who claims victory at DH San Diego Tekken 7.
