DH San Diego Street Fighter V Format, Prize and More

DreamHack Fighters San Diego has an impressive roster of events, with just under $100,000 in total across all of their fighting games. One of the most fun tournaments lined up is going to be Street Fighter V. It might not have the biggest individual prize pool, but the timing for the DH San Diego Street Fighter V tournament is going to make it one to catch.

Most events are about to make the jump over to Street fighter 6 since we’re fast approaching its release date. Our final Street Fighter V Capcom Tour is already behind us. The DH Fighters events might be one of the last chances to see this version of the title in play competitively. If you want to catch things at home, this is how it’s all going to work.

DH San Diego Street Fighter Format

DreamHack is taking place over the full weekend. Everything for Street Fighter is going to run over a single day though. You’ll see the whole event across a few hours on Friday the 7th. Like the other fighters at the tournament, it’s starting off with pools before making the move to a double-elimination bracket.

DH San Diego Street Fighter Prize Pool

The prize pool for Street Fighter DH San Diego is on the lower end compared to Brawlhalla. Although, it’s roughly in line with other major fighting franchises with just one day of the tournament. This is how the prize is going to be split up across Dream Hack San Diego 2023 for Street Fighter.

1st – $1,000
2nd – $500
3rd – $300
4th – $200

Just like with the other tournament at this level such as the DH San Diego Tekken event, there are no prizes for 5-8th.

Players to Watch

Since we’re at the tail end of things with Street Fighter V, it’s a busier time for pros in this game! That’s not to say there aren’t some big players making their way to San Diego for DH Fighters though! The biggest heading in is probably Phantom Miria. They’ve placed at Combo Breaker, EVO, and some of the biggest fighting game tournaments. There’s going to be a decent number of players attending though so we may see someone new claim one of the last few available titles for Street Fighter V at DH San Diego.

How to Watch

As with the other events for DreamHack San Diego Fighters, it’s been scheduled to avoid clashing with finals for other tournaments like DH Smash Bros. You can catch both the pools and the Top 6 bracket as the final for Fighters on Friday night, a nice spot for a game on its victory lap at this point. The bracket is going to be available on the official DreamHackFIghters Twitch for you to follow along.
