DreamHack Fighters is putting on quite a show in San Diego this year. Across seven main tournaments, we’re going to see most of the top fighting games get some competitive action, including King of Fighters XV. The tournament for his game is a one-day event, but DH San Diego King of Fighters is still going to be a major draw.
This is how the event will work, the format, prize pool, big players taking part, and how you can follow along.
DH San Diego King of Fighters XV
The King of Fighters XV event has a fairly standard format for the tournament, it’s roughly in line with all the other games at DH Fighters. Things are starting out in a pools stage before we whittle competitors down to the top players. There they’ll compete in an elimination bracket.
Prize Pool
DH San Diego King of Fighters XV has a $2,000 prize pool in total. While DH Fighters as a whole has just under $100,000, the vast majority of that cash is going to Brawlhalla at DH San Diego! KoF’s tournament has roughly the same prize pool as Street Fighter and Tekken. This is how it’s going to be divided between the players.
1st – $1,000
2nd – $500
3rd – $300
4th – $200
Top Players at DH San Diego King of Fighters XV
There are going to be quite a few decent competitors at this event, no doubt some who are competing across multiple games like Kizzie Kay. At the last big DH Fighters event he came in 2nd for King of Fighters. Between Kizzie and the others in this roster, there’s a lot of big talent showing up here. These are some of the top players to watch at DreamHack King of Fighters XV.
Reynald
Kizzie Kay
LazieFreddy
JDR
AndyOCR
Phantom Miria
Reynald took first place at last year’s DreamHack Fighters in Dallas and 13-16 at EVO the past year, which definitely puts marks him as a contender for this year’s title too. There’s steep competition in this line-up though.
How to King of Fighters at DreamHack San Diego
DreamHack San Diego King of Fighters is being broadcast alongside the other major tournaments like Guilty Gear at DH. You can catch the action on the stream for DH Fighters. The pools and Top 6 are being broadcast, which is more than most non-Brawlhalla games are getting here! The entire session for the stream is going to be on Saturday morning, from 10 to 2 PM. The top 6 starts off at 12PM though, if you want to jump in and see which of those great players take victory.
