Black Dahlia Skullgirls DLC Arrives This Week

The new Black Dahlia Skullgirls DLC has just its full release date revealed! We’ll be getting the latest character added at the game just before march ends on the majority of platforms.

The new character is the latest in Skullgirls 2nd Encore’s DLC. So far, we’ve already seen quite a few characters added in through this, but there are still new characters and content on the horizon for this title.

The Black Dahlia Skullgirls DLC is going to be released in Wednesday, March 29th on most platforms. Although, the Switch fighting game version of Black Dahlia will take a little longer, coming at Friday, March 31st. Older versions of the game won’t support the new character’s addition though. Players on PS3, Xbox 360, and PS Vita can’t get access to this latest character.

While it’s disappointing not every platform gets DLC, it’s more a testament to how long Skullgirls 2nd Encore has run while being supported. The title was originally released back in 2014, and the 2nd Encore version of the game has also been around since 2015. From 2021, there’s been more DLC getting added to the game though. That’s notably the same year Skullgirls esports hit EVO online. The Season 1 Battle Pass is continuing with Black Dahlia.

Black Dhalia Skullgirls DLC and Season 1

This new Black Dahlia addition is still a part of the first season DLC Pass. She’s coming along with Annie of the Stars and Umbrella which have already been released.

After Black Dahlia, we’ll have one more character coming in Season 1 of DLC. We’re going to get Marie added after this, a Skullgirl who can control the dead and will be the boss of the story mode.

The Skullgirls DLC is a nice addition to flesh the roster out even further. The title still appears on the roster of most of the major fighting game tournaments like EVO and more. Getting more characters is always good for livening these events up and putting some wild cards in. We’ll have to watch at upcoming events to see when our first esports tournament with a Black Dahlia player comes up.
