How To Set Up CS:GO Binds

First, we’re going to show how to set up CS:GO binds. If you’re using multiple binds, it can be tedious to re-bind them every time you open the game. Luckily, you don’t have to.

On your PC, head to C:Program Files (x86)SteamsteamappscommonCounter-Strike Global Offensivecsgocfg, and create a text file named autoexec.cfg. This is where you’ll paste binds into. Then, enter your CS:GO Properties on Steam, open the Launch Options, and write +exec autoexec.cfg. These binds then remain active every time you open CS:GO, and save you heaps of time.

These small changes add up. Whether you’re changing your CS:GO rate settings, using console commands, or adjusting your graphics settings, there’s plenty you can do to improve your game.

Best CS:GO Binds

CS:GO binds are a personal preference, but some are more useful than others. They can be the difference between a win and a loss if the game is close enough. These are the best CS:GO binds you can use to emerge victorious.

1. Mouse Wheel Jump Bind

The Mouse Wheel Jump bind removes jumping from your spacebar, binding it to your mouse wheel. This makes it much easier to bunny hop, allowing you to move across the map faster. In a gunfight, it’s also much faster to jump behind cover. It might only be a millisecond, but it could be the difference between life and death.

The only potential negative to this is accidental scrolling. If your mouse wheel is sensitive, you could accidentally jump in the middle of a firefight and get yourself killed. For most players though, this is still useful.

To use the Mouse Wheel Jump bind, place this into your autoexec.cfg file:

bind mwheelup +jump;bind mwheeldown +jump

2. Clear Decals Bind

The Clear Decals bind is a small optimization, and you won’t notice how effective it is. This command clears enemy blood from walls, making it easier to see any other enemies lined up against the wall. The difference may not be immediately noticeable like something like finding your best CS:GO crosshair would be, but once you’ve added it, you’ll never go back.

To use this, add the following text to your autoexec.cfg file:

bind “W” “+forward; r_cleardecals”

This means that whenever you move forward, you’ll clear decals, so you won’t even consciously think about using it.

3. Mute Voice Chat Bind

There’s nothing worse in CS:GO than being mid-clutch, and having four people barking at you. This bind mutes everyone, so you can focus on the task at hand. Communication is crucial in CS:GO, but sometimes you need a moment.

Add the following to your autoexec.cfg file for peace and quiet.

bindtoggle j voice_enable

4. Jump Throw Bind

The CS:GO Jump Throw bind is a mainstay in all CS:GO pro settings. The idea is simple – you jump and throw utility at the same time. With a correct lineup, this is how CS:GO pros line up their crazy cross-map smokes and flashes. Next job – learn the lineups.

alias “+jumpthrow” “+jump;-attack”; alias “-jumpthrow” “-jump”; bind alt “+jumpthrow”

These are the best CS:GO binds, but there are plenty more that can be found online to further optimize your game.
