Support for the #SaveApexMobile hashtag keeps getting stronger by the day

EA made a shocking announcement on Feb. 1, 2023, when it announced that the battle royale title Apex Legends Mobile was shutting down for good.

Fans of the game launched the #SaveApexMobile hashtag in an attempt to save the game from its impending doom. Almost a week in, the hashtag is reaching critical mass and more “casual” supporters are signing up for the cause.

#SaveApexMobile trends on Twitter as fans attempt to stop Apex Legends Mobile shutdown

EA has said that the game will be shutting down on May 1, 2023. While there are still around three months for that to happen, fans of the game have scrambled together in a last-ditch attempt to save it.

Content creator Karo gaming said in a tweet that she and other creators “won’t go down without a fight.”

“Season 4 looks like it could just apsave the game only if you give it a chance…listen to your players. We don’t want this game to go,” she added. The tweet has so far been viewed more than 3,800 times and has 166 likes (at the time of writing).

Fan account Apex Mobile Intel also put out a tweet saying that discontinuing the game is a “disservice to the dedicated community and creators who have invested time and effort into the game.”

Can Apex Legends Mobile be saved?

So far, more than 14,000 tweets have been put out with the #SaveApexMobile hashtag. While it looks bleak that a big corporation like EA might trail back in its footsteps, the effort by the community is still really valiant.

Apex Mobile isn’t just developed by EA. The game is developed by Tencent and has been published by EA. For the game’s shutting down to be stopped, both companies must agree to it. It seems unlikely that this might happen.

Additionally, the decision to shut down the game was likely made on the back of the game’s player base and revenue not meeting expectations. However, EA has hinted Apex Legends Mobile could be brought back in the future. In a recent earnings call, Andrew Wilson, CEO of EA, said that they had plans to bring a reimagined and connected Apex Mobile experience in the future.

Apex Legends Mobile releases last content update with a lots of new features

While the game is soon shutting down, this hasn’t stopped EA from releasing one last update to Apex Legends Mobile. The latest update has introduced a new map Olympus, Legend Horizon, Battle Pass, and more. The update has been loved by players which have further fueled the #SaveApexMobile hashtag.

Horizon is the latest legend in the game. His tactical is the Gravity Lift, which lifts the players and propels them towards a direction. His ultimate, on the other hand, is the Black Hole. On using, a literal micro black hole will be created which will pull players towards it and also create a gravitational blast.

The new map, on the other hand, is called Olympus and has become the third BR map in the game.
