Here is the full guide on how to play Jayce in League of Legends season 13 like the mechanical god T1 top laner Zeus.
Zeus Jayce top Guide – Everything you need to know
Jayce is one of the strongest and most versatile champions in the game. Not only can he offer long-range poke, but he can be a great fighter when playing in hammer form. Thanks to the recent buffs, he got even more resistances, making him harder to kill in melee form.
That said, Jayce is also a difficult champion to play and master. He requires a great understanding of fundamentals, laning phase, as well as great mechanical proficiency. To help you out, we’ve compiled the best builds and runes, taken from one of the strongest Jayce players in the world: Zeus.
Jayce top Build by Zeus
One of Jayce’s biggest strengths is that he can be strong at any stage of the game, as long as he’s played and built correctly. Having said that, he has specific item spikes that give him a great push in terms of damage upon certain item completions.
In particular, Jayce obtains the power spike at two items, after both Eclipse and Manamune are built. These two items not only grant lots of attack damage but also grant the mana and ability haste to spam the spells in quick rotation, greatly increasing his potential damage output. Once the Manamune is fully stacked, Jayce will get a second spike since he will get access to the Muramana’s passive. Paired with the Ionian boots of Lucidity, Jayce will get enough ability haste to use spells in constant succession by swapping between the two forms.
After the two core items, Jayce wants Serylda’s Grudge to take advantage of the item’s passive slow, as well as the 30% armor penetration: this will allow him to deal good damage to any target he’s facing. This is the trio of offensive items.
Once you get those, aim to build some defensive stats to either peel yourself or have extra resistances. Edge of Night is a great compromise because it grants both a spell shield and lethality, while Guardian Angel has a revival effect. If you need to build MR, consider building a Maw of Malmortius.
Overall, this is the usual build seen in most of his Jayce games:
Eclipse
Manamune/Muramana
Ionian boots of Lucidity/Plated Steelcaps
Serylda’s Grudge
Edge of Night
Guardian’s Angel

Zeus’ Jayce Runes
There are a couple of rune setups for Jayce. Zeus, however, usually runs Conqueror as the main keystone rune. It grants additional attack damage when fighting, and some healing when fully stacked. By going Precision as the primary tree, Zeus usually picks the following minor runes:
Presence of Mind for the extra mana regeneration and refund upon takedowns;
Legend: Alacrity or Legend: Tenacity for additional tenacity against crowd controls;
Last Stand to deal more damage during skirmishes.
The secondary rune tree is Inspiration, with Magical Footwear and Biscuit Delivery as his two choices. This is his most common setup since Zeus trades very aggressively early on and depletes the mana pool fast. For this reason, he uses the biscuits to quickly restore the mana spent and continue to pressure during the laning phase.
If you want to play Jayce like Zeus, sticking to this guide will allow you to get the most out of the Defender of Tomorrow.
